Working with the NHS 2023/2024
T4H have recently secured some funding to work with Modality via the Health Equity Fellowship and Public Health Lewisham. This is a great honor and a chance to complete the work we started with the NHS years ago, to add complementary health to their offering via their GP's. We are working with three practices, the Jenner, South Lewisham and Bellingham. Dr Ama Sogbodjor is our GP lead. We have already attended various groups and events giving free head/shoulder/back massages to support the project which is also aiming for better health outcomes to those who may not usually go to their GP and other factors which has resulted in health inequalities across Lewisham. We hope our work has a lasting impact on our communities.

If you would like to get involved and/or join our band of volunteers, do get in touch. Do look out for all the free community events including other GP's/groups who are covering varying areas across Lewisham. You can drop in and talk to people about your health and in some events get various health screening checks such as blood pressure, kidneys, BMI, heart and more. See our BLOGS for more information.

Low Cost Clinic - ongoing

An ongoing partnership between MindBody Therapy Centre & Therapy 4 Healing read more here.

We welcome all referrals who need regular treatments and meet the criteria, please ask them to fill out our form to apply.

Working with disabled and disadvantaged Children and Young People

Children at the centre.jpg

We have continued to help support disabled and disadvantaged children and young people, up to the age of 25, with therapies including stretching & muscle massage for physical disabilities to enable movement and an ease of aches and pains. Also breathing, relaxation & anxiety management and coaching for cognitive disabilities. When we have no funding, parents have been utilising our low cost clinic. Some of the issues facing children and young people include cerebral palsy, mulitple physical and verbal issues, children on the autistic spectrum and ADHD as well as young carers who need extra support.

When we do have funding, we like to offer six FREE sessions to each child/young person, if we feel we can help in any small way. In October 2021 we are welcoming referrals for free treatments. Please fill out our project referral form to apply.

Working with the Community through therapies - ongoing

T4H has been busy working on varying projects across London supporting Lewisham residents, elderly groups, B.A.M.E vulnerable women, women dealing with domestic violence, and local food banks, promoting the Windrush compensation scheme and highlighting health inequalities- helping people to stay fed, active and mentally, emotionally and physically healthy as best we can.

Covid-19 2020 / 2021 / 2022 support

"This has been life changing. Last year my arms were so painful and I was in a very dark place. My friends had said to me I should probably change my career. This was really difficult for me. I've just had 3 sessions with T4H and already my forearms are so much better - and to think they were going to cut me open to try and solve this problem, when all the time it was just really bad tension. Thanks so much, this really has changed my life"

NB.If we are in a lockdown, we will not be able to offer physical therapies. We will continue to offer our services via zoom and telephone.

We welcome referrals from all organisations who feel their beneficiaries will benefit. See a list of types of people; issues; reasons for
referrals. We also welcome self referrals using our Project Referral form above.

Through funding, we are able to offer further free regular zoom or over the phone sessions for those needing to talk. We are also continuing to run this through our long term programs; Low Cost Clinic and Complementary Health Pain Clinic.

These are for adults over 18 years old, especially but not only, for people living with long term health conditions; disabilities; cared for and their carers; for children with disabilities; over 70s as well as people who are suffering from isolation, anxiety and/or worry.

Previous sessions have proven to be really helpful for people who haven't been able to go in to see their doctors as regular as before, or see many relatives to help support them through the many changes in their lives along with the Covid-19 pandemic anxiety and worries.

We have a range of professionals in their field who are ready to talk people through pain management; breathing techniques; mindfulness; coaching; mentoring; counselling; issues with job loss and more.

T4H receives many referrals throughout each week. Be assured that it goes into the inbox for T4H and they review and call or refer to the right therapist/facilitator to call, hopefully within 1 - 7 days working days.

You may be called from a 'private number', so please bear this in mind. Please use our main details if you wish to contact us or anyone else you are referred to.

NB. We do not take the place of the doctors (or long term counselling) and people still need to refer to their GP first and foremost.

Tesco Bags of Help Covid-19

TESCOLogo1.jpg

Through donations, fundraising and dedicating 10% of successful bids we have been able to run our Low Cost Clinic and Complementary Health and Pain Clinic for people living with long term health conditions, disabilities and their carers. For children with disabilities and over 70s we have provided this for free. Currently we have been unable to see any of our long standing beneficiaries nor accept any new beneficiaries for face to face sessions.  This fund has helped us to be able to offer:

20 FREE virtual sessions - 1 hour each (zoom or telephone can be used) to those in need, dealing with long term mental or physical issues, to talk to one of our facilitators/therapists about how to manage on a daily basis

They are likely to go very fast, so if you are in need, or you know someone in need of help, please contact us asap.

We are pleased to be able to get involved on the front line, being the lead organisation and working in collaboration with Evelyn Community Food Store to assist them in getting much needed food parcels to those in need at this time. We are also working in collaboration with We Matter UK and Plot Coffee all locally based in Deptford and Evelyn wards, Lewisham. We will see how this project develops according to the current crisis and adapt accordingly to meet local needs.
