Good opportunity! Go direct please.

My name is Breagha and I work on BBC’s The Repair Shop. In the programme, which is watched by millions of people,  individuals bring us much-loved personal or community items that have fallen into disrepair, and our expert craftspeople carefully restore them.

We’re currently preparing for this year’s Christmas Special, and we’re reaching out to community groups and charities across the UK to help us find festive items with special stories behind them. Filming begins on 20th October, so we’re keen to hear from people as soon as possible.

We’re looking for any type of festive or Christmas-related item that is in poor condition but holds deep sentimental or cultural significance — something that represents family, community, or tradition. This could be:

  • A treasured family decoration or heirloom

  • A much-loved community ornament or display

  • A handmade festive item that’s been damaged

  • Or even a local tradition in need of revival

This is an opportunity for someone to have their cherished item repaired for free, while sharing their story on the BBC’s Christmas Special.

We would be so grateful if you could help us by sharing this opportunity with your community or networks. I’ve attached a flyer that you’re welcome to circulate, and here’s a link to last year’s Christmas episode for inspiration:

If anyone comes to mind — or if you’d like to discuss how best to share this — please don’t hesitate to get in touch. You can reach me by email Breagha.Campbell@ricochet.co.uk or on 07900 191280. I’d love to chat further.

Thank you so much for your time.

Best wishes,

Breagha
