Lewisham’s Black Voluntary and Community Sector Expo took place @ Lewisham Civic Suite on Friday 9th December 2022. It was great to see so many familiar faces and people that have been waving the community and volunteering flag for over 40 years.
In attendance included representatives from Lewisham council such as speakers Catherine Mbema and councillor Kim Powell as well as renowned GP Dr.Jacky McLeod.

This event has been organised by Mabadiliko CIC in collaboration with Lewisham Public Health, London Borough of Lewisham and Lewisham Local and we expect to host up to 20 black-led community organisations from across Lewisham at this event.
The theme of this event is black voluntary community sector stakeholders and their role in delivering health and well-being services in Lewisham. The event will feature black charity leaders, social entrepreneurs, public health, council officials and others involved in delivering health and well-being support to Lewisham’s black residents.
The Black VCS Expo '22 offers local black-owned businesses in Lewisham, an outstanding platform to showcase their services to a wider local audience and get to know their peers and other stakeholders from the private and public sectors. The programme for the day will also offer interesting topics relevant to community leaders, policymakers, clinicians, and public health officials all involved in addressing health inequity in Lewisham.
Exhibitors representing relevant businesses and organisations, and sponsors from organisations and businesses that are peripheral and/or complementary to the field of black health and well-being in Lewisham, are invited to participate and display their products and services.
