A new community-led project in Lewisham is helping people get timely support for arthritis and mental health, reducing barriers to care and improving day-to-day management.
Developed and led by Therapy 4 Healing in partnership with Modality Primary Care Network, the project brings together community insight and NHS expertise to build trust and make it easier for people to get the help they need - particularly for Black and other underserved communities.
Residents have been attending a series of in-person clinics, coffee mornings and walking groups, where they’re offered practical tips for self-management, clear signposting to local support, and complementary massages to help with pain relief and relaxation.
The project was funded through the South East London Integrated Care System and King’s Health Partners Vital 5 Healthy Mind programme.
