Resources for Autism invite you to a
Lewisham
parent’s coffee morning.
All families are welcome to relax, enjoy coffee and cake, and chat about autism with other parents, share stories and feel at home with people who understand.
When: Tuesday March 19th, 2024 10.30 am to 12.30 pm
Where: The Green Man Hub 335 Bromley Rd, BR1 5RU
Who: Parents/carers of autistic children/young people in Southwark/Lewisham
Our autism specialist family practitioner will be providing practical support and advice.

This sounds like a wonderful initiative. Having a safe, relaxed space to share stories and enjoy a coffee with people who truly "get it" is invaluable for parents and carers. Connecting with a community is often the most important support of all.
Events like this are so helpful for families. Interestingly, it's often in these very settings—listening to other parents and learning from specialists—that many adults begin to reflect on their own childhoods and realize they share many of the same traits as their children.
For any parents or carers attending who might be having those "lightbulb moments" about their own neurotype, finding a private way to explore that further can be helpful. I often recommend the online RAADS-R test.…
